Metalfab LTD is a manufacturer of custom manufactured Fire Apparatus located in Centreville, NB Canada. Metalfab specializes in units custom engineered to meet the specific needs of each customer. Our products include: pumpers, tankers, rescues, mini-pumpers, and other fire related apparatus.

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Buyer for our organization. This role may eventually transition to a management position for the successful candidate.

Qualifications

Ability to identify and source new/improved components and accessories
Working knowledge of MS Office, MRP
Experience negotiating prices, credit terms, discounts and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
Track, monitor, and maintain Purchase Order deliveries and liaise with Production to administer changes with minimal impact to production schedules.
Expedites problems with suppliers and vendors regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of goods purchased.
Keeps informed of new sources of supply for materials and services.
Performs on-going review of product, service, equipment and expense usage to identify new opportunities for cost savings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Previous purchasing experience is an asset
Previous experience in a custom metal manufacturing operation is an asset
