Job Description:  We are actively seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team of professionals. As a Mechanical Engineer at Metalfab Firetrucks, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing firetrucks, specializing in heavy truck upfitting. Your expertise in aluminum and/or steel manufacturing, hydraulics, pneumatics, heavy truck electrical systems, and fluid mechanics will be essential in creating top-of-the-line vehicles. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Collaborate with the team on 3D design to optimize the efficiency and functionality of our firetrucks.

Play a vital role in the research and development of new products to meet evolving industry standards and customer requirements.

Enhance our product line by incorporating knowledge of 3D design, heavy truck chassis equipment and components, as well as fluid mechanics. 

Requirements:

Mechanical Engineering degree

5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design.

Proficiency in steel and aluminum manufacturing, hydraulics, pneumatics, heavy truck electrical systems, and fluid mechanics.

Demonstrated expertise in 3D upfitter design.

Familiarity with heavy truck chassis equipment and components.

Proficiency in standard computer software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, Office).

Passion for innovation and the ability to work on research and development projects.

Strong adaptability to new technologies and industry trends.

Effective team player with independent problem-solving skills.

Preference will be given to those with the following assets:

Familiarity with aerial firetrucks.

Understanding of electric vehicles.

Knowledge of metallurgy.

Welding background.

Knowledge of heavy truck components and equipment.

Knowledge of mobile air conditioning systems.

Proficiency in MRP software.

Metalfab Job Opportunity – Production Supervisor 


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join
our team. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for working with
our Engineering, Supply Chain & Quality departments to ensure that materials
and technical information is available at each station. A Production Supervisor
ensures the smooth running of processes on a production floor. Their duties
include overseeing routine production activities, troubleshooting and solving
issues that arise on a production floor and ensuring a safe and clean
production workspace.


Production Supervisor duties and responsibilities
 Supervise 10 work stations with up to 15 employees total
 Work with Quality Team to improve work procedures and meet Quality
standards
 Your focus will be on safety, productivity, quality, continuous
improvement, and efficiency
 Responsible for reviewing the work at each station, ensuring that it is
done properly to the shop order
 Responsible for the house keeping throughout the shop
Production Supervisor requirements and
qualifications
 Previous working experience as a Production Supervisor would be an
asset
 Class 3 license would be an asset but not required
 Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on
company’s success
 Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
 Team player
 Good time-management skills
 Great interpersonal and communication skills
 Must be willing and physically able to perform all job functions as
required
